Went out for a short rip today and noticed my rpm's were close to 9000
Came home and changed the belt (been on there for a while)
Went back out and the rpms were still high.
In the begining of the season it would top out at 8600.
Have not changed a thing. Do HC's require more mant. than stock?
What should I tackle first?

Okay. Here is what I am running
02 Viper ER 5000 miles
Stock gearing
Stock track with 96 Gold Diggers down the middle
Carbon Tech reeds
Stock jetting
Dalton helix 48/36
Stock secondary spring wound at 80
Grey primary with HC's
Heel 2.3 Mid 3.3 Tip 3.3
New Yamaha belt(as of now) 2.5 mm wider than old belt
In Jan. it would rev out at 8600-8700 but now it is at 8900-9000
What is wearing out?
95mph on the DM at 8500rpm

Just an observation Stein...I'm constantly testing mine this year since I'm new to the whole Heelclicker thing...I'm running a MicroHelix 48/36(close to Dalton)...So far my
last set up...5.3(heel) 0.0 (middle) 3.3(tip)...Red Primary...50 degree Green Secondary(might change.)...I'm right at 8500rpm and saw 113mph on my Speedo...and yes..just added a new belt...
Thinking of goin back to the stock spring and adding 3.3 to the middle(my testing grounds have been incosistant)...just want to double check...
Anyways...unsure if yer shooting for top speed...Yamerdown have even better results..but I'm still tweeking...

unsure if this helps...but ya never know

Thanx for the info S.S. No, not looking for top speed here(have seen 117 on the DM in -30c weather).Just loking to get the rpm back down to where it should be.I bought the Viper with all this on it already and do not have any weights, springs or washers for the HC's. Thinking I need to add some more to the tip.But like I stated before I have not changed anything all season and it has gained 300-400 rpm. This is what puzzles me.
