I was looking into jetting my sled down for the warm weather we are getting this time of the year, losing rpm, assuming its because of losing power due to fat jetting. Anyway,on the tech section, it lists the stock jetting as 146 146 148, but on my clutch cover there are numbers written on it showing 135 135 136 main, I havent looked at the carbs yet to verify, but why such a big difference on whats listed and what is in the machine(supposedly).Im in the Thompson MB CAN area if that tells you anything. Thanks for any input.

Just a quick thought here but are you certain it's the jetting causing the sluggish feeling?Have you cleaned the powervalves lately?I realize it is warmer now but look at some other areas too for the cause of the problems. The difference in the jetting numbers is odd as it would seem like you've got a chart for a different engine or at least a different temp/altitude combo as there's such a wide variance there. You should try doing some throttle chops to see what your plugs look like at various throttle positions, you might be able to get away with just leaning out the mid range a bit by setting the e-clip up one notch.Just a thought.

Yeah, pretty sure its the jetting. When it is -20 or colder she rips real good, pulls 8200 out of the hole and revs out to 8500 on top end. Like i said it loses rpms when warm, about 300 rpms, when warm out i only get 8000 out of the hole and rev out to about 8100 - 8200 on top end. Going to some drag races this weekend and hoping to get as much out of her as i can. Now does 135 mains sound reasonable for my area? What jets are you running? thanks for the reply and any info

By the way 135 mains is written in marker on the clutch cover, assume the previous owner did some changes and wrote it on the clutch cover, When it is -20 or colder the plugs are a really nice cardboard brown. thanks again for any replys

PS. powervalves cleaned and adjusted lastweek.

I assume this is for a 700 so I included a jetting chart from the service manual.See if this will help you out,I'm not sure why the previous owner would have experimented with such lean jetting unless he was in the mountains.

You'll have to zoom in on the image to get a good reading of the numbers as it didn't scan very clear.

Holy crap, im going to have to take the carbs off and check out the jetting, that is just too much of a difference of what is stock and what is written on the clutch cover, Thanks alot for the jetting chart, really helps alot.
