on my 04 viper how hard would it be to put in the engine from the yamaha jet ski or machine the top end to fit? any thoughts?

It has been done, but you don't want to tackle that job. The porting in the base of a watercraft is nothing like that in a snowmobile. There is alot of work that needs to be done to make a watercraft based motor run like a snowmobile motor. Also, you will run into issues with recoil, ignition, etc. I believe one guy did a gp1300r bottom end, with price cylinders, and built a 1350cc motor or something like that. In the end, it cost him near $15000, and was only producing 250 hp, but massive torque.
If you want more power, take an SX or SRX bottom end, stroke it to 70mm, get some price or HTG cylinders, and build a 1108.
