I am rebuilding the top end on my 02 viper and was wondering the best way to drain the coolant before I do this? any help? Thanks

Remove your pipe and manifold and you'll see a drain bolt,it'll have a copper
washer on it..
washer on it..

I don't know if the Viper is the same as an SRX but there is a small hose on the bottom of the water pump housing that runs to the carb heater fitting on the mag side carb.If you shut off the valve that lets the coolant circulate through the carbs and are real quick with getting the hose off of the mag side carb you can put a bolt in the hose and run the hose out through the steering rod boot,or exhaust outlet if the muffler is removed, into a drain pan. That should minimize the loss of antifreeze.I got this tip from a member here a few years ago and it's worked for me.
