Just ordered an M-10 King for my 04 Viper S.
Any helpful hints for installation or rider feedback would be appreciated.
I have read the installation article in the tech pages to help in preparation.
Thanks

I had one in my 02 and it seemed to really drop my top end speed. Very nice ride though. Measure twice and drill once. Make sure you use aluminum rivets or the steel and aluminum meeting points really tend to corrode.
how much is really dropped your top end meaning?
I have heard 5-10 MPH on the top end. A friend of mine with a Pol. 600XC lost about 5 MPH.

I may end up selling my M-10 cause my sled only hits 85 as it is!

The instructions in the Tech Section of this site are VERY useful. The pictures are worth printing out full size.
A couple of notes:
- When positioning the template you will use the lower holes that are for the Yamaha Proaction sleds. The instructions from Fast are a bit vague where they talk about using that set.
- You can reuse some of the rivet holes that you grind out, instead of drilling new holes when mounting the braces inside the tunnel.
- Measure, measure, measure, then measure again!
- I would suggest setting up using the "softer" settings, I thought I would start out firm and it would soften once it broke in, but ended up going to the softer settings.
Here is what it will look like installed

The small top speed loss is worth it for the excellent ride.Running the track tension as loose as possible really helps in this regard also it also helps the slides to last much longer. This is another area that the m-10 is much better than the proaction which really eats slides in comparison at least mine did no matter how it was setup.

the m10 if u do lots of ruff riding then ur really going to like this ride it is a cadilac ride the only reason we loose speed is on the steep pitch angle from the track to the sliders at the front of the sled and using 5 inch wheels on the back axel , i have heard changing the 5 inch wheels to larger ones changes the geomertey of the suspention, but that may only be on a short track as i have long track 141 m10 with the 5 inch , im going to try 7 inch thats going to help with track speed. i have the rolled chain case so i have very small angle. that step angle allso pushes more snow in the deep and that causes slow down. thats why a lot do rolled chin case so u change the track pitch angle less the angle the better u will be in deep snow, it packs instead of push. so if u want to get creative do a chain case roll . in order to make the installation process fool proof, i always thougth that Fast should have devised a template that utilized your existing holes on the chassis to help line things up. for example, the template would have 3 pins on it that would be placed in your existing suspension bolt holes. then everything would line up and then you could drill the new suspension mounting holes without having to do all the measuring and all the other bullcrap that is necessary. unless i am missing something, i don't know why this method wouldn't have worked.

we put on longer snow flaps to help catch more snow for the rear heat exchanger.
Installing an M-10 in my SX was the best mod I have done to it. My installation kit came with cardboard template that slipped over the axle and ran back along the tunnel, showing all mount points. Like someone said, take your time and measure twice. As for top speed, I think 5 mph would be a fair guess. Keep your spring rates as soft as you can without bottoming too much/hard and your track as loose as you can without ratcheting or if your fully studded. Low and loose will help if your worried about your top speed. I would also recommend shaving your coupler blocks in the rear for increased transfer. I think I shaved mine about 5mm, others have said up to 10mm.
