I have 5900 flawless miles on my srx until this weekend when I burn a cylinder down because a plug baked out
obviosuly I need a new jug set.
is there a need/benefit to re-ring the other 2 or is there no reason to break them apart.
not sure about wear on these srx's with their nicosil (sp?) .... cylinders
would a compression test answer that for me, or visual?
what psi should I be at
thanks

Don't worry about how much PSI it has. it's time for a re-ring and you might as well do it while its apart. No brainer really.

I would do it for sure. I'm getting ready to put new rings in mine even though I see 0% blow by and I have 135-137 lbs of compression.

should I get new gaskets, are the old ones reusable or should you not use old.
can you pull the jug/head together or need to pull head first
i know you need to remove coolant manifold

Pull heads off your are going to want to inspect. Hone all cylinders, check ring gap and use new gaskets. Do it right the first time. Make sure you get the torque spec's from someone..

I could use the sequence if you have the time. The rebuild is going to happen this summer but I never turn down free info! Thanks
