going to buy a track this spring and looking for one that will be good in hard pack and powder i noticed alot of used ripsaws with torn lugs is the same true with predators???anyone have a good used one

i already did a search but i want fresh opinions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5000 miles on my ripsaw and lugs are ripped off in spots and two studs have pulled out. had 5000 miles on predator 1" on last sled and it still looked like new. thinking about going to 1.25 predator next year. predator works a lot better in loose snow and is more durable. just wished that the 1.25 predator already had predrilled holes like the 1.25 ripsaw has.

I went with a ripsaw, I want as much grip on the trails as possible without studs. I have not torn any lugs yet and I have about 2500 miles on the track. A predator will be a better track in the powder though. But any 1.25 track is great compared to what was on it before!!!!!Go Ripsaw...IMO

IMO the Predator (now called the Curve BTW) is the better of the two. Just as good on hard pack, much better in powder, more durable, quieter and probably less top end loss.

There have been a tone of ripsaws falling apart recently. Do a search on the 4 stroke forums, you'll be there for an hour.

I absolutely love my Predator. It grips just about as well in most conditions the Stock Viper track with 192 studs. I would not hesitate to purchase another one. Best $300 anyone can spend on their sled. Well that and better skis.

My first Predator 1-1/4 went 7000 miles with 144 studs and still looked great with no rubber missing. I replaced it because it had dry rot cracks. Liked it enough that three years later that bought the same track again. this one has 1500 miles and looks great.

track

I have had both on my srx. The predator 1.25 blows the ripsaw away. I wish I had bought the predator from the start

We rode this past weekend with 3 preditors and a ripsaw. The ripsaw was better than the unstudded preditor on the trails. It hooked up real good, but not as good as the studded preditors. When we got off in the nipple deep stuff, and I know how deep it was, because the ripsaw would dig a trench and be stuck all the time. The preditors did fine in the pow. Maxdlx

all I can say is it depends on how and where you ride as to durability. I ride with plenty of snow and I try and NOT pin it from a dead stop (takes too long to groom the trails!) and I have a ripsaw that looks like new after some good miles. probably somewhere around 3-4k miles. I love it on my viper

does anybody know if there is a top end loss with 1.25 predator compared to 1.25 ripsaw. i would think the ripsaw would be faster just by looking at them but no experience in that regard.

if i could get a 1.25 predator pre-drilled from factory (they don't make'em that way) i would do it in a heart beat.

i have the ripsaw track on my viper. just put it on this year and have approximately 1500 miles on it. looks great yet. absolutly love it. haven't tried the predator track, so i can't comment on that, but can say that I love the ripsaw.

a few weeks back I saw (on the speedo, so take it as it is..) 117. no loss of top end after the ripsaw installed over the stock 1" cone track. all stock I was seeing 110-115 on the same conditions (VERY hard pack, only about 1" on the ice) so I have gained a little bit. and I have about 8400 miles with the top end NEVER opened up :) dealer told me a while back I had one of the faster ones he had seen. she is a good old girl lol!
