Have an 80 srx(gold) did get the parts manual for it, it is marked as 8K6, but in the us it is 8K2? I wonder if it is diferent number in the us and europe? I was checking my it has 8K6, and most of the ornament in the parts manual i also 8K6, frame, windshield and skis are 8K6.

Do anyone have an good answer to this? This is a big riddle for me.

That is interesting. I wonder what else is different. What is the date of manufacture?

I will check the manufactordate later to day, the 81 Srx that came to Norway whas similar to the 80, but had red stripes, not gold. else those where the same. But se that my parts manual from 80 has number 8K6. The darth vader srx 440 did never came to Norway(8M6), But both did came to sweden.

Cant find the sticker with production date, but frame number is 8k6-015164 and it is gold.

the 81 srx 440 in europe was just like the earlyer srx 440, not like the one with tss(8m6) red stripes where the 80 had gold, and silver frame.

Will try find out about this is an aftermarked frame, but now it is eastervacation in Norway, so will come back to it.

There were only Six #8M6 SRX440 That Came to SWEDEN. For the Racing Circuit. Three drivers got them. They got two each. One for Training with. And the other for Racing with. It won the Swedish Championship in -81. One of the Yamaha driver were Fredrik Holmgren. That also had the oppotunity to Race a few Competitions In the U.S. With a 1981 SRX440. Im a owner to one of them. For the Private consumer we were able to have the Leaf Spring 1981 SRX440 It had Silver Frame and chassie. With Red Stripes Like the 1980 SRX 440 With Gold Stripe Here is a Picture of it. Another European SRX 440? I think it have the #8K6 Identification number.

beautiful man!! those are awesome!! what did they come with for carburation? the 80 srx in the u.s had oil injection with butterfly carbs

This is very interesting. I can't open the pictures tho. Can you E them to me at dynofun1@mchsi.com ? Thanks

Im not Shure If there were the same motor as the -80 had. But it had the Butterfly Carbs and oil Injection as well. When i raced mine in -82 against the -79 and -80 SRX There seemed that the -81 had some more Hp in it. It could get away with a couple of sled lengths in 660. But it could not touch the SRX-81TSS. Buy the way it is not my Sled in these Pic's I have sold mine in the late -80`s

yes, the 80 and the 81 where just like, just diferent in colurs. But i have not get answer if the 80 in europe had 8k6 number. The 80 partsmanual says 8k6, but dont now the service manual in europe.

Here is two oft the 81 in my neighbour hood, the 81 with red stripes. But i dont know other with a 80 model.

Is there anybody that have heard about the VIN number 8M3 at srx 440? Talked to an guy that have the partsmanual for 81 srx(europe) and it has 8M3.

Seems that the 80 and 81 srx in norway did have diferent frame number from all of the rest of the world????
