Not to start a heated discussion here but am curious as to what was typically the stock compression on the 485cc motor?
Just bought a "donor" sled to put the engine in my wifes sled & this thing is pushing 120psi, using a good quality screw in tester etc.
In fact when ya pull it over, it feels like the old Exciter SX motors felt, pulls nice & firm.
Seems a bit high for a stock Phazer motor??

nope your good with them numbers..
Just checked my records on the last time i tested..my '94 PZ has 2,100 miles all stock healthy motor..
it pulled 130psi on both,,(operating temp,WOT, 6-7 good pulls)

Thanks Damon, good to hear. These numbers were dead cold, throttle open, so I would guess when shes warm, numbers might increase a tad.

My old mod phazer motor was about 155 or so.
^^ What mods?? I am looking to turn my 89 phazer into a super modded phazer!
