I've been working on a '98 srx with 6,300 miles. I've found that one of the cables for the powervalves has pulled through. I looked up the price for new powervalves and found them for $72.00 apiece. I bought a set off ebay, servo, cables, Valves everything for about $100. This set the spring keeper wore right into the back of each valve. One valve is hardly worth reusing. I understand that high milage and vibration would wear the valves out. Are these valves repairable? I've seen posting where they've been welded. Is there a way to minimize such extreme wear?

Do a search on repairing powervalves. been done to death. Running seafoam or some other similar gas additive(ring free) in the gas really helps to keep em from sticking & pulling out.

Thank You very much. I did a search before making this post and didn't find that link. Very helpful!!!!! Thank You!!

maintenance is the key.I have 2 sets of them,so I take out the ones in there, replace with the clean ones and ride. Then I will soak and clean the dirty ones and get them ready to switch. This way I can keep the valves always clean without much downtime. It is when they let them get to dirty is where they will start to stick and then you can have cables pull thru.Use good oil and even add sea foam to the oil and gas..this helps to.
