Well a friend and I finally got enough guts to try skipping a decent amount of open water on saturday. we drew quite a crowd on the opelt bridge too! we measured out the big open spot at about 1200 ft. after a few good runs tragedy struck, i heard a clicking noise as i was approching the open spot if you listen closely you can hear it in the vid. my track started to shred. there was about a 2 foot long chunk with a stud on the end of it that really raised hell with my tunnel then hit me in the back as i was crossing. i cant figure out what happened because my track was in pretty decent shape and i didnt clip any rocks in the water, i guess its telling me it wantsa 136x1.5!

it takes a lot of force to tear that out. There was a weak link in that track somewhere.

yea thats what i thought, i dont really care about the track but man did it screw up the area above the front heat exchanger. you cant see it in the pic but there is a hole the size of a golf ball there. i couldnt stop because the water is 4-5 feet deep in that spot.

serves you right..lol.Next time you go thru water that deep, install a tall paddle track to that sled.Make sure you change all your bearings now to,could have a rusting problem coming.

Hey Blkmax how many miles you put on this season? How do you like our gas prices? At this rate it'll be costing me about $100 per tank of fuel for the SRX.I'll only be able to take her out once a month then.I better start looking for a SnoScoot.Might go back to a Bravo 250 even. Not a joke.I cannot afford to run $100 a day for sledding, don't know about you,but can I say this may kill the sport and dampen sales of new sleds.I am restoring a 76 Panthera 500 this summer,it'll be good on fuel..uses regular at least and the sled is light. No new sled on the horizon here, can't afford it.Besides I have 3 sleds and that'll do me just fine.
