I'm going to set my viper cylinders up to run o-rings with a set of SRX heads. I have a couple questions though. What are the dimensions for the o-ring grooves? What is the diameter of the inner and outer ring grooves at the inner and outside edges? Also what are the widths and depths of the grooves? I have access to a nice lathe at work and I am going to cut the grooves myself. I just don't have access to any SRX cylinders to take measurements off of. Can anyone help here?

Surely there has to be someone on here that has an SRX cylinder laying around? I could get buy with at least the width and depths of the grooves. I'd rather not have to play trial and error. I'd sure appreciate it!

Depth .052
width .093

Inner, inside to inside, 3.005
Outer, inside to inside, 4.200

Cut the heads and use a gasket much quicker.

Great, thank you 800. I like the idea of the o-rings. If I get the cylinders and heads set up right, I think I'll have a great set up. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to using a gasket vs. the o-rings? Other than the ease of not having to cut the cylinders? I've read a lot of posts of people doing it on their vipers. I have yet to read any cons besides the work/cost. Today after work I made a piece to mount my SRX cylinder heads in the lathe at work. After I cut the o-ring grooves, I will start cutting the heads. My goal is to cut them down to the 20-21 cc range then recut the squish band. My goal is a squish measurement of .052-.055 but I have read you can run it a little tighter without detonation problems if you increase the squish angle. I've read on here that stock is a 14* angle but that some go to 17* with a finishing angle of 19*. Not sure how far from the outside diameter to start the finishing angle but I thought I would try a 1/4 inch. Thanks again for the info 800. With your guys' help I'm sure I'll have my new Viper running like a top.
