I have a 1994 Vmax4 with 10K miles on it, an 00 SRX with 12K miles on it and an 03 RX1 with 7K miles, all purchased new. By far, my favorite sled is my 00 SRX. It has plenty of power in the stock form, by far more power than I'll ever need for my type of riding, trail riding in VT, NH and Maine, outstanding reliability, I have not had to replace anything other than the normal maintenance items (I just put on the third belt about 1K miles ago). The sled handles like a dream, has excellent comfort. To me, it is the best looking sled on the snow. For the first 3 seasons I rode it, all of my riding was done in Quebec, saddle bags trips, ususally 250 - 300 miles a day. I moved the position of the 6 small bogie wheels down by 1.5 mm and can now get 5000 miles on a set of hyfax while riding in marginal to good conditions. You can't go wrong with an 00 to 02 SRX. If you do get one, in any condition, there is enough expertise on this site to guide you through any repair or rebuilding issues you may have. Good luck!!

Blueblooded,
I thought you sold your 2000 SRX? Did you decide to keep it?

Blueblooded,
If your sale does not come through then let me know. My cell phone is 845-625-7971, home phone is 845-724-5610. I have directions to Lockport printed out and the empty trailer loaded on the truck. I've got the cash in hand. Just give me a call and I will drive out to pick it up the next day. I'd give that sled a very good home. No B.S., call me.

I have a 98 700 that I put a 136" track kit on and a few other toys and I love the machine. Fun to ride all day on and off the trail and can keep up with my buddies mach z. Unfortunately I am going to be looking at selling it due to a baby on the way.
yeah I'm going too try pick up a 98-02 SRX this summer too, alot of my friends are saying not to get one because they drive a ski-doo or polaris, arctic-cat. I say not me I bleed blue and I need to get myself a blue monster just too shut my buddies up............LOL
I hope you find one too

I met a guy while sledding on my last trip that at one time had 15 SRX's in his fleet. He sold all but the best 6. He lives in VT and is a sled dealer. He loves the sled so much he found one still in the crate at a dealer in Illinois. The dealer wants $7k for it. Now that is a fanatic, but who can blame him. The SRX is an awesome sled. I just ordered $700 worth of parts (pistons, rings, seals, gaskets, body panels and other OEM stuff that may be hard to get in 10 years) so I can keep mine in top shape for a long time. It's a funny thing about certain Yamaha sleds, once you own them and ride them, you don't want to sell them. I have had 10 sleds in 28 years of sledding, of all of them, I rank the SRX as #1 followed by my 94 Vmax4. I have a 93 Exciter that my sons have out grown so as soon as I go through the entire sled, it will be up for sale. I have to still fine tune my 03 RX1 to get onto the "keeper" list. SRX's of any year in prime condition are going to be harder to find every year, get one while you can.
