I just purchased a digatron gauge and need to find where I can pickup the tach signal. I have asked and searched everywhere but no luck yet.
I have a 2001 700 MM and have the 3 wire hookup for the guage. And am told I have a dc system.
Red to Red 12v, black to ground and the orange to tach signal. The orange wire I am told needs to go to the tach pickup signal and cannot be the same as the yellow/black for the original tach. I was told by the dealer to try the wire to the kill switch but thought i might try here first.
I have seen postings here from people with the same problem and some that have figured it out, but no one has given the answers.
Any help would be appreciated.

Do a search
This has been done to death on here. Did you do a search? If you can't find it try PM to SRXSPEC.

Tach hookup
Yes I searched all over this site as I stated and yes it has been posted to death BUT nobody has given an answer to the question as far as all the posts I have read. Some have figured it out but they have not posted the answer to the same question. Thanks

I think there is a digitron hook up posted in the tech section. You may be able to pick it up off of one of the 3 stator whites.

For a signal, you can pull from any 12V lighting wire. I did this with my Racepak. The racepak needed a 12V source, instead of the 2.5V tachometer wire signal.

It needs to be an AC signal. I ran my racepak off of one of the stator whites.

this is why i liked the tac i put on my et410. it just plugged into the headlamp wires. works great too. needeles do not match but it gets the job done.
it is the same size as the spedo and is from a really old 433 i think. had to ask Guy at sudbury cycle for the part#. i have it posted on here.

tach pickup
Thanks for the help. It is one of the white wires from the stator. And I had a problem with my leads that came with the guage. That is why I was having so much problems, thanks again for all the replies.
