I just thought i would let you guys know i rode about 70 miles today in the marquette, and ispheming area, i was the first one down all the trails in over a foot of new snow with drifts that were some times over 6 feet deep, i was really wishing i had a long track today, i had a blast even though i got stuck a few times in some of the really deep drifts. The weather is not looking to good for the rest of the week but i had a blast today and have no problem with the season ending after this ride.

Yeah, we got about 8" in Newberry, more to the north. Too bad it's gonna be in the 30's and 40's from here on out. Talked to my brother yesterday who lives in Marquette. He had about a foot at his house close to the lake. He took a ride up to the crossroads (M-553 and CR 480) and he said there was closer to 2 feet there, just 6 miles west of where he lives. Reports of 20+ inches in Negaunee. Sorry, no pic's.

If you are going off-trail in the Marquette/Negaunee (Sands plains) area, bring a shovel and a sno-bungee with you. You will get stuck. The 2 feet + of mashed potatoes is swallowing RMK's and MM's with 151's. If you carve in it, forget it. You will be digging. Straight line, full throttle is the only way to get around out there right now, so I have been told. And sorry, still no pics.

they are not grooming, i have called everywhere. no groomers are grooming, i know they said theyre supposed to but they arent. Nobody has been behind the house here on trail 8 in gwinn. I called munising, big bay, and ishpeming. all the people i talked to said that "yes" they were supposed to but they all said that the state of michigan cut all funding for grooming as of march 31st. They said the trails are open until april 6th, but stopped grooming march 31st.
