I broke my bars on my '86 Phazer last weekend about 2 miles into our ride and now I'm looking to replace them. I was thnking of getting an old stock set and adding bar risers, 2" maybe? Anyone raise their old Phazer bars? Suggestions?
I definitly want to raise them up a bit but I dont want to have to replace all the cables. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I'd have to question weather the handle bar assembly on an older Phazer is strong enough for the extra leverage of much of a riser. They break pretty easy.

on my exciter, which has the same handlebar setup as a phazer, i completely removed the stock bars (i could see someone welded them previously as if they already broke once) i cut a section from an old 80's cat to make my own riser, then bolted the aluminum dirt bike handlebars to them, the handlebars are straighter and higher than the originals and seemed to work pretty good on the trails. just my .02

The Phazer II bars were about an inch wider. Not much, but it helps -if you wanted to find a set of those.
I also want to raise the bars on my Phazer I, but do not know if a 2 inch spacer will go.

Phazer2 Handle bars

I have a handle bar with a mountain bar from a 94 Phazer2 if interested.
Complete with brake, hot grips, throttle & cables.

Pm me if your interested for more info.
