Any tried this or is it possible with the bulkhead? Can it be done?

I'm pretty sure the hood/belly pan is wider to get around the muffler.

I looked at a friends 2001 mm and 2003 SRX and I do not think it is possible..

I dont think so. Would require a whole make over chassis conversion

i'm 95% sure you can. you can put the sx/sxr pans and hood on a srx with reconfiguring the pipes to fit (reason for big bubbly hood). you can do it, i'm pretty sure
Yes, absolutely
You absolutely could do this. The SRX belly pan and hood provides more room everywhere. Belly pans are wider and the hood is taller. The only things you are going to have to modify are the belly pans in the upper shock mount area.....the MM shocks mount up higher to the lobes on the front cast section of the bulk head and you'll have to do some belly pan cutting in this area so the shocks can protrude through the belly pan to the upper shock mounts. You MAY also have to use a SRX air box so it lines up with the hood properly. You MAY also have to use SRX heim joints on the radius rods as they are narrower than a MM. That should be it.

Im not sure if he wanted to know if it can be done with or without modifications. But yes, you "CAN" make just about anything work.

It is not a straight bolt on swap is what I meant to say. I would sell the MM and buy a SRX rather than go to the effort of making it fit.
Ok
I wasn't trying to argue with you guys above.....he asked if it could be done so I was just trying to help out by letting him know what would be involved. As far as "mods" go, this one is pretty darn easy. I am sorry, but to tell him that you "looked at a friends MM and 2003 SRX" does not help him at all. Especially since there is no such thing as a 2003 SRX! If you don't know the answer and can't provide any help it's probably not worth it to bother posting.

Waiting for the water co. to come and change my meter so I am bored.
The front inner and outer bumpers are the same (have them on my mm bulkhead + plastic). Center plastic is the same, shroud around the gas tank is the same, looks like the bulk head, side panels, and hood are the only major differences. I bet it's an easy swap....
I'd pm betheviper. I know he has made some interesting combinations over the years and has broken down and parted lots. If I remember one of his posts from way back correctly, I think the motor mounts are different between the mm (redhead) and srx/viper. To put the srx motor AND stock pipes in a mm/sx chassis you had to swap the hood, side panels, AND bulkhead so everything would bolt up, or make custom front motor mounts and do something different with the factory tripples. Don't quote me, I just remember reading something to this effect back when I was considering a srx block instead of my redhead in my mod.

Missed typed, I meant to say my friends 2003 mm and a SRX, so sorry. I may even be wrong about the year of the MM sled, I just know he bought it the same year I bought my Viper. Back to the original question, I don't believe in making a lot of mods or even a few to make something fit or work unless there is a something to be gained IE, more track, better handling or more HP. I believe it will bite you in A** sooner or later.
