Well this site is absolutely the best sled site on the net. Made me almost buy another Yammi just because of the site! So much good info and help! I sold the SRX and just picked up a 2002 Polaris 700 edge.($2000) Hey it is still BLUE! I WON"T miss the SRX anytime soon. So uncomfortable to ride and such a PITA to work on. I had a 700 poo before(99)and actually started to miss it as it started easily and was so easy to work on, plus parts were cheap. We still have the SXR which has been perfect and with help from this site may give the 700 edge a good run. A HUGE thanks To MRVIPER700 as he has always been on call it seems to answer any ?'s I had. This site is great and I will miss the excellent help and advise it provides. I really don't think I'll be on here a whole lot since the wifes SXR is like perfect and never gives us any problems. Thanks Dave

Polaris sleds are easier to work on i had a 2000 in the gen II chasis and the edge does ride extremely well compared to the gen II....almost seems that some of the ride technology from fast trickled into the design of the suspension ...hey good luck all that matters is getting out there for the ride, and thats a sweet price you paid for on the 700....CP

Dave, Your more then welcome. I am gonna call your house and tell your wife to send me the sxr engine in the summer for a little tweaking, so she can streak by ya on your poo!!!.......LOL!!!! Ride safe bud.

Congrats on the heck of a deal for a 02 700VES edge.

All polaris sleds are easy to work on. The ride is def better on the edge sleds versus the GenII, but the Gen II is faster than the edge chassis. Maybe it is the added rear suspension travel? In 00, I had the choice of the ltd edition (1 per dealer) xc600sp in the edge chassis, or the std gen 2 600VES. I went with the gen 2 for 2 reasons. They had a smokin deal on the normal sleds for the next model year -snow check plus other price cuts- and the edge was a 1st year production sled chassis. Granted the edge had been race tested, but there was a 600 dolllar difference between the 2. I madea great choice as the sled has been pull and go for 8 years now, but I may be throwing an edge rear suspension in it this fall for a little more big bump compliance.

So what Polaris site will you be on? Amazingly I am not on a polaris only site myself.

I have been on Hardcore sledder, need a new username as it was daveneedsasled! Oh Mrviper I won't be letting my wife beat me just yet and if she does she's getting de-tuned! ....I was looking into 600's but she would've taken me up top! This sled needs only a couple things, wheels (2 don't match as they were replace on a trip) and a rear spring adjuster which is like $3! A little cleaning and it should be good to go! AND THIS WILL BE GETTING REVERSE TOO! Couldn't find one that had it for the right price.

I am assuming that is a 700 sxr then, huh? does it have triple pipes on it?

Because if it doesn't, you won't need to worry about the yami beating your xc.
Heck, my stock piped, stock clutched xc600sp VES outruns all the 700 single piped yamis.

That is good to know, triple pipes on the wifes sled, now that would be funny! After I changed her carb settings, reed spaced it, head gasket down to 1 layer, and can modification that SXR goes pretty darn good. I never drive it and I drove it before and after the modifications and what a difference! 16mpg too!!!!!
