I'm in need of a rear skid for my SXr. After much abuse, my proaction has had it. The W-arm broke (again) but this time snapped in 2 corners and took out both rails. I have no complaints at the 13,000 mile mark. Now I am looking for opinions on what skid I should be looking for. I love the ride of the Mono with the fat boy spring, do they make long travel kits for the 121 mono? What other options do I have? I need something that will take a beating and I need a long track. I am 6'6" and 325ish. M10? cat or ski doo skids? What should I be looking for? I need something that can take a real beating without $hiting parts everywhere.Must be 136 or maybe 144. Thanks to all.

I weigh basically the same as you do. I installed a 121 prox with walker evans shocks, and rail ext to 136. I was worried about the shocks as I was told the blow easy. I rode the snot out of it, and never had a problem. It transfers increadable, and can be adjusted easy. The ride is way better than any pro action I ever rode. After ridding 250 miles in 2 days I felt like I had only rode 25. It really works great. I have heard the Edge skid is just as good, just fewer adjtments as it isn't a race breed skid. There are always some on ebay for around 200 plus shipping. I am sending the shocks to either hy gear or deycore for a revalve and freshen up. It is way cheaper than a m-10 , expert or zx2. Pro 116 had a 136 doo skid if I remember right. That was what I was looking for when I found this one, but I have no regrets. Maxdlx

I have a 136" m-10 in my sx-r and its great after 5000 miles of pounding.Last year I put the m valve in the rear shock and it made it a much more aggressive setup and it still rides good. One negative with it is it does'nt hookup very well even in 136" length even after various adjustments its decent, but nothing like a polaris or cat skidframe. The comfort of this skidframe is simply amazing though, but I'll admit its a pricey setup as has already been mentioned.

i would go with a IQ racer skid if i was u. 16 inchs of travel and walker shocks. i personally would never run walkers my self but im only 155lbs and they are way to stiff to me. i have quite a bit of experience with the skid. my boss has a race team and ive worked on them for the last 2 years. seen very few failures compared to what they go threw. if u stay on nut and bolting them u usually wont have a problem. 90% of the problems ive seen on the IQ skid are from the lower pipe side torque arm bolt lossening up. but it does have a secondary hole if it does happen which is nice. all other failures ive seen were from my boss experimenting with other set ups other then stock.

Thanks for all the input everyone. $$ is a factor. I dont want to put $1000 skid and a $400 track under a 9 year old sled if ya know what I'm saying. I like the Mono but I think she would break, it just seems a like a featherweight when I pick it up. I have no idea where to start looking for an IQ skid. Roll the dice on ebay for an M10 or IQ?

Edge here absolutely love it, still working on the rear shock had it revalved and its better but i think i may throw some fox zero-pros in the back this summer.
