Help! Blew engine in Viper today!
I have a bender piped Viper with 9000kms on it and it finally let me down today. I was doing a speed run across the lake in front of my house and it locked up. She was runnin' the best I ever seen in my life before it blew! (they allways run best before they break it seems...)
I took the head off, its the mag side cyl. I took the jug off and you can see there is nothing left to the lower connecting rod bearing.
My guess is that the bearing failed and the piston slammed against the cyl-head and shattered. It does look like a meltdown.Anyway, I need to know what I can do with my crank, I don't have to buy a whole new one do I? There must be a place I can send it where they can rebuild it?
As allways, and help, tips, or advise would be deeply appreciated!
Thanx

Northern crankshaft... they actually end up doing a lot of other speed shops work. If you send it somewhere else, they may be sending it to Northern, but charging you more. Northern has many years of experience, and I have sent my and my relatives cranks there with quality work done. I trust them.
