LIFE MEMBER ONLY ONCE!!!
Well today was a nice day and I just finished summarizing both sleds.Engine is taken care of as in fogging properly. The skids were washed and sprayed with wd40 for rustproofing.Pumped sufficient grease into all the zerks.Polished hoods, cleaned seats, cleaned up running boards, ski's and trailing arms all polished up,loosened tracks up also, plugged up exhaust holes and air filter screens, ran the carbs dry and added sea foam into tank in the remaining 1/2" of gas sitting in there.Put a lot of moths ball around everything for them critters to.
Removed all clutches also and wiped the entire area for the belt dust build-up.Tried with the center to center tool to see if my clutches changed from last fall. The SXR c to c and off set is good. The SRX c to c is a tad off but off set is good.Need a small engine adjustment, but very little.Noticed one thing and it is bothering me.The jackshaft is wiggling or moving just a tad in the bearing on the PTO side. What the hell...Just replaced that bearing last summer. So I went to check the one on the SXR..thinking this was normal..but that jackshaft is snug in it's bearing.MY QUESTION TO YOU GUYS: CAN I change that bearing on the shaft without taking the gear side apart and slipping shaft out.I'll have to see if maybe the shaft has worn a bit to.This is very weird to be happening on a new bearing...piss's me off a bit.
I checked the entire skids on both sleds and it is flawless. There is not one thing that has broke or missing a bolt. The re-inforced w-arm on the SRX is in perfect order .and the w-arm in the SXR is also perfect. Not bad with over 10,000 km's on that arm to.Must have had great welds on it from factory.Hy-fax is also good on both,no need to change. All wheels are in great shape and the bearings to.
Now the sleds are in storage..the garden tractor and the motorized vacuum system comes out to work on the lawn.
I have had great luck with the stock skids, and I ride hard to..a lot of jumping and hard launches and things are all good. The tracks are in perfect condition to.Just going to rebuild all my clutches..primary and secondary with the new parts I have ordered from Rich. They should be in late next week.
