Well today I finally decided to tear my chain case apart after having some problems on my last ride in February. It started off real bad when I pulled the plug to the case and no oil came out. A few choice words and a few bolts removed, I later found that the lower bearing in the case was completely gone. I guess that it's not all that bad. I wanted a new track, so here's the opportunity.
I'm looking for opinions of replacement parts. First off, what kind of bearings should I use. I like using stock yamaha parts, but wondering what other's think. Also since it's all apart I wanted a different track. I'm in between a 1.25" and a 136" kit. Or a maybe a 1 3/8"-1.5" track still in a 121. I'm thinking maybe a predator, cobra, or the free ride tracks. I'm not sure in I really need a 136, but would that too deep of a paddle on a 121 be too much. I'm planning on 8 tooth extros, and gear swaps. I'm riding hear in the Houghton area, and many of you know the trails are a little loose. That's why I want a bigger paddle, but not sure on length. I have lots of input from buddies with the predator, and have pretty much determined many like it, but looking for a bit of input on other tracks. Sorry for the long post, just wanting get started on my new endeavor. Thanks for any input. Drew.

If you stay on trail, the 1 3/8x121 would be good for the loose conditions. I like the 136 length due to its ability to bridge over more of the rough stuff.

Unless you ride tight and twisty trails you will never notice the extra length of the 136" in corners.

I switched to a 136" last fall and after 2000 miles last winter I love it.I rode your area last winter and it was great off trail and in the loose trail conditions plus the better ride as has been mentioned.Go for it with the 136" and 1.25" combo I think you'll be quite pleased especially considering where you ride.

I figured the 136" would be a popular answer. That's probably be what I do. I was thinking of the camoplast Cobra. Looks pretty aggressive. Anyone use this track before?

That Cobra is an awesome track. Lot of guys running it on the four stroke side and they have nothing but great things to say about it. Thinking of swapping the track in my Attak for one. I do quite a bit of off trail.

I figured I might give it a try, whether I go with a 136 or not. I'd plan on keeping two picks per rib. I want to try keep some rotating mass down, since I'm only running a 600 with pipes. I may look into more lightweight parts, just keep my sled a bit more competitive. The Cobra has me quite intrigued. Hopefully it won't be too much track though for my lack of power. I'd still like to cruise at a decent speed if I want too.
