Guys, the Snowmobile Hall of Fame in St. Germain, WI has had an incredible vintage race sled donated to the museum by John Carlson of John Deere Cross Country Racing Fame.

Jon donated this historic sled to the SHOF as fundraiser with 100 percent of the proceeds of this sale going to funding our great Snowmobile Hall of Fame.
This is what is for sale. One very close to all orginal SSR as you will find for sale today. As you know very few people ever sell thes rare sleds. This sled has an incredibly low build number being 104 which is the #4th sled built. It has been speculated that Yamaha produced upwards of 125 or 150 of these SSR's of which purportedly around 50+ went to Canada and a handful ended up in Europe with rest residing in the US. VIN's start at 101 on SSR's.

Sled has a matching tunnel VIN to crank case. Sled is beautiful and with some light improvements could be very close to perfect. Sled has a Polaris primary and secondary on it which means the jackshaft is set for the Polaris clutchs. Easy change out with period clutches found on most SRX's from this era. 8HO carbs, correct pipes, rear skid.Hood is original glass with professionally painted on center red and black Decals and repairs to glass. Front white Yamaha decal and SSR side decals are not correct and can easily be replaced by reproductions that are prefect from Intech Graphics and or Engineered Graphics but it still looks great as it sits. Ski are original, seat has been recovered and looks like new now. tunnel is straight, primer on dash is not correct, correct rubber push bulb is how it should be. Simple cheap correction again. Fires up. The Snowmobile Hall of Fame does not claim to be experts on exact originalness and specifics of this sled. We are presenting what we know and as we see it. If you have specific questions please call and we will try to answer the questions to the best of our ability.

The sled is located at our Snowmobile Hall of Fame located in St. Germain, WI. Sled must be picked up in St.Germain, WI. We are offering this sled for sale until Sunday April 27th at which time if the sled is not sold it will be put on eBay. If you wish to personally few the sled before Sunday please contact the Snowmobile Hall of Fame at: 715-542-4488 and ask for Loren Anderson. Also, we have more pictures available via email if you wish please request.

Don't miss this rare chance to own one of the most coveted Sno Pro's produced. $13.500 takes it home.

What is the history of the sled? Is it something that was just pieced together? Pretty incredible of John Carlson, BTW!

I sold that SSR to Jon carlson. The sled is all original except for the paint on the hood. Every part on that SSR came from Yamaha and on that sled from the factory. I doubt you could ever find a nicer ORIGINAL SSR . Jeff Wurl

The SSR HAS BEEN SOLD

On behalf of the Snowmobile Hall of Fame, I would like thank all those who expressed interest in this rare snowmobile. The sled has been sold.
