Totallyamaha will be receiving a crashed 06 Apex RTX from www.Crankyape.com (online source for bank repo and insurance repairable RVs, Cycles, ATVs, Sleds and more) for a documented rebuild. The entire process will be documented and shown in this forum from tearing down the sled to the chassis and doing a complete build up. We will attempt to acquire only advertiser’s parts to do this build. All advertisers would have recognition and/or plugs in the forum for anything they contribute. Once the build was complete the sled would go with Totallyamaha to all rides and snow shows for on going promotion. Also the build documented process would be added in htm code on the site for a static exposure in our Product Reviews area indefinitely. If there are any Vendors for Yamaha Parts, Track, Studs, Carbides, Skis, Super Charger or Turbo, After Market Suspensions, Exhaust and or front suspension components’ that we should contact or that would like to get involved please do so. I really feel this will be a fun project and a awesome opportunity for Vendors to show off their products.

We are hoping to be able to complete the build over the summer months before the season kicks off.

Also I will be looking into a few Sled Magazines (SnoGoer, Supertrax…) to see if they would be interested in following the build or document the process after its complete.

So far I have received interest from Yamaha USA, Mountain Performance, Ulmer Racing, Curve Skis, Excell Performance, Port Washington Yamaha , ArcticFX Graphics and Team Fast.

Please follow link above to follow the build!!

Interesting idea Tom. Could also challenge one of the other sled sites to do the same and perhaps have a build off of sorts in the magazines, on SnowTrax and of course on PINKS!

Best custom build TRAIL machine
TY vs HCS.
Better yet TY vs DooTalk... the battle of the manufactures.

If raced on asphalt limit the allowed changes from the original build to asphalt skis and a slick track. Everything else must remain the same (other the clutching and gearing). Lowering the suspension could also be allowed, but no chains and the mount location must remain the same.

Alright Tom!!

Glad to see this is gonna go, I really like the idea and I am sure it will be very informative and alot of fun to watch! Are you going to be doing this yourself at your place? I would love to see the progress in person this summer.

;)! ;)!

Yamerdown, thats a good idea maybe for next year. Thanks for the support on this and Yes Mike almost all the work will be done by me and participating vendors... and all the work will be done at my house.... should see some progress by the summer fun get together.

get ahold of the guys at timbersleds, they need to be an advertiser on here, i have been telling them this for years. they build a nice front end and their rear skid has posiblilties.

I am working with Fast right now on a rear skid but could be open to some front end stuff... thanks for the advise.

amatosrx, Once I get the sled in parts maybe you could help me out on what we could coat or polish !!
