i have a 2001 srx that im converting to a off trail sled. i bought a 2 inch 136 kit for a 98 srx mountain off ebay for 200.00 it has a new 2in paddle track and 8 tooth drivers and a new speedo gear, and some goofy things that go on the end of the rear suspension to extend it one inch? im going to buy the extenders from mountain performance, what gearing will i need to gear down too. realistically this sled will probably never go to the mountains, just the little hills around the midwest. i think the 2 inch might be too much for some trail use but we will see, any advice would be appresiated.

Put on ice scratchers for hard packed / low snow conditions. 2" track needs a little help with lubrication. Ride it with the 8 tooth drivers before lowering the gearing anymore, you will probably be satisfied. If the 8 tooth drivers are not anti ratchet drivers, spend the extra $, it is worth it. Running your track looser adds HP to the ground and extends your hyfax's life.

With the little money you have into the track you could always cut down the lugs to 1.5" later if you don't like the 2" paddles. Scratchers are a good idea, I hear the ones on the skis throw snow up on the whole length of the rail nicely. XC
