Gas prices here are really climbing.I filled up today at $1.299 a litre.Attendant told me there were rumores that in the City there where hikes of prices as high as $1.46 a litre.Haven't been in town to see that yet.Customers at a country gas stop were coming in saying they have seen $1.42 a litre.I will check it out tomorrow, this is getting crazy already. They were predicting about $1.40 to $1.60 by the long weekend in May ,is just right around the corner.YIKES!!!!My truck will then be costing me around $170 to fill.Man are we ever going to be paying dearly on everything we buy now since transportation costs will rise to.Going to be a rough year for sure.I can see a lot of small business's starting to hurt.Flower shops that charge for deliveries, fast food deliveries,Dollar Stores will no longer be dollar stores, fresh Fruits and Vegatables etc. What is this world coming to.The prediction of a major Stock market Crash for late in the year is becoming more evident now.The talk is Global recession,Stock Market Crash the likes the World has never seen before. Will take us back to the 1920's.Horse and Buggy days coming again. There is nothing we can do,but prepare for it.Stop your major spending and save for the hard times.People will be hurting for sure.Never thought something like this was ever going to happen in my lifetime.I am putting in a good sized garden this year for fresh veggies at least.
On the news today it said already gas siphoning is happening in the city.Thieves are draining gas tanks dry at Car Dealer Lots, right on peoples driveways even. They told the public to put their vehicles in the garage if you have one and more alarms are being ordered for vehicles.locking gas caps are selling lot hotcakes. What did you expect would happen. They said gas is like Gold now and people are stealing to save some bucks.A new Crime Wave for the Police now,as if they didn't have enough on their plates already.
Man o Man..I can't believe all this..is this a dream or what?????:dunno:

Hopefully this isn't going to depict the cost of race fuel for next season. $90 for 18.9 litres is more than enough money.

If airline fuel is going up,your race fuel is going up.What isn't going up.Hey bluewho..got my shelter already,it was dug 24 years ago.It is well hidden. If I get into it..you would never find me on my property.Just got to figure how to get air into it and running water...lol

Geez man..you need to look at the positives. In 6 weeks the days start getting shorter & riding season will be here soon. Buy a 4 stroker & cut your sled spending in 1/2. I have a bud switched from a srx to an apex. He can,t believe how much cheaper it costs to ride in a season.

Turk..you sure there will be snow next season. The way it has been going, winters are slowly getting warmer and lack of snow is a growing problem.Last winter was the worst I have seen in a while for actual snowfall amounts. The ditches hardly had enough snow to get somewhere.I'll believe it when I see it.I really hate it when the season for sledding starts after xmas and finishes in March.Very short season to ride.

well gas prices hit a new high today here. $6.21 a gallon or $1.369 a litre for regular.I won't even tell you what premium gas is.By riding season it is going to be ridiculous, maybe $8.00 a gallon for premium....bad news.Driving to work in the winter is going to be fun, with starts and warmups. My truck now costs me about $150 now with regular to fill up...YIKES!!!!!!!:dunno:

The trick around here is the thieves are drilling a hole in the bottom of your gas tank with a cordless drill. They not only avoid the alarm systems and locking caps, but leave you with having to replace the fuel tank....NOT cheap! It's surprising that more of them haven't been blown up in the process........... :o|

Gasoline, especially in it its liquid form, is not as explosive as a lot of people think it is. Unless they drill into the top of the tank where the vapours are, which would defeat the purpose, then it is very unlikely it will explode or catch fire.

MythBusters shot automatic riffles into a ½ filled tank and couldn’t create a fire, let alone an explosion. The only way they could confirm the myth was using tracer rounds, which are basically on fire as they travel through the air.

Anyway, the process would be low risk. Fn expensive for the owner of the vehicle though!

I have a buddy thats works at a dealer ship and most gas tanks are plastic now so there would be no spark, and what they are doing is taking an eavstroft and doing multiple cars at once. Pretty smart and costing a lot to the dealerships

On the bright side!

Maybe Bluemonster won't be able to run his sleds next year which means we won't have to spend all of next winter reading about his clutching trials and tribulations!!!

Madmatt

Sorry Bluemonster.....just kidding....I couldn't resist!

Madmatt..come on now,you enjoy reading my threads.Anyways,my clutches are all rebuilt now..so things should just click next season.Besides ,you don't have to read my threads on clutching, you can read other threads on how people blow up their motors in the beginning of the season. Now that is good reading..lol.. CLEAN your carbs guys.

WOW!!!! I knew it was coming.

BenderSRX..I heard about them prices down east..crazy man. That puts you guys at around $6.85 a gallon Canadian.
And the thing about gas tanks and drilling holes...I predicted that a long time ago would be the next crime wave coming.Just hope the poor fella walking up to his car doesnt smoke and toss his cig. butt near buy where the gas has leaked to the ground. KABOOM!!!!.I should get into stocking up gas tanks and sell them on the side.a new buisness venture.LOL:rofl:

When gas gets to $8 to $10,you are going to see some real high tech ways guys will be stealing gas.You drill a hole first, shove in a tapered end fitting attached to a hose. Then you let the gas flow into a gas can,or add an electric pump(cordless) and run the hose off the pump right into your filler spout.Wouldn't take long to fill up your tank.Easy to do.:o|

SXRYAN,it wasn't so hard to do eh....lol .Will they make locking gas caps for snowmobiles and ATV's.I can that being a problem when guys are on rides, stop for lunch or overnight and their gas is siphoned from their tanks.
