Have an old phazer that i am trying to keep running for my son but the rear suspension is in rough shape, I was thinking maybe some other skid from something newer. The rest of the sled is prettty good ??

Yes it can be done, but if it's just an old sled for your son, I don't see the point in going to a different suspension. When you go non stock on things like that, what seems like a simple operation can turn into a real project. Old Phazer parts are usually easily found and cheap. I bought one for 45 dollars at a swap meet. It needed some parts replaced, but you could combine parts from the two suspensions. You would also have some replacement parts then.
