just rebuilt a 1998 venture 500, the sled had 8,300 miles before the total rebuild.

had the sled out this weekend and it's running well however the engagement seems to be off. i was able to turn up the spring rate to 120 and it really seemed to help. but the sled is still sluggish at take off. figure the secondary spring needs replaced and possible primary? just feels like it's starting out in 2nd or 3rd gear and doesn't have much throttle response till it gets moving?

thoughts comments???

Check out the tech section(click in my sig)look for stock specs on the sled,
set it up,then go from there..

you are on the right track with replaceing the clutch springs. when you have the clutches apart inspect all the rollers, bushings, weights and sliders. sounds like you have some worn parts that will need replacing as well to take advantage of the fresh power in the motor.
