I am getting a used 2005 viper mountain, I have a few questions. First of all its going to be my standby sled, I have a nytro that I will be riding mostly. I want to put a set of tripple pipes on it, preferable someting like a set of Benders. I see that there some viper pipes for sale in a couple different forums, will other year pipes work like ones off of a 2003 and up.
Also did the 2005 viper mountains have the same cooling problems as the earlier models.
I dont want to totally dump alot into this sled rite off but I do want it to run decent with a set of pipes, thanks guys.

If it is going to be a part time sled, I would not triple pipe it. If you want to pipe it, SLP's are easy to tune. If you start tuning, piping, tracking and gearing it, you will stop riding the Nytro and spend most your time on the Viper IMO.

Good point about the pipes, do you know anyone that may have a set of slp pipes for sale. Oh and about the nytro thing, it will have a turbo.

would a set of bender pipes off of a 2002 viper fit the 2005.
Yes, but I would hold out for some SLP's.grizzly660 said:would a set of bender pipes off of a 2002 viper fit the 2005.

slp pipes are good and aaen pipes work very well too. i have a set for sale if interested. the pipes have heat tape on them and come with all the springs and manifolds. oh yeah, while you are shopping for pipes, don't be alarmed by what year viper the pipes are off. viper aftermarket pipes work for all year/model vipers.....mountain, er, or not.

How much do you want for the pipes, are they the aaen or slp's.

I have an 05 I put benders on mine, no complaints here but I have heard that the slp s perform better. also the 05s came with the extra cooler in the back , but I would spend the $30 and put an opticool head gasket in, it makes the cooling holes smaller so that it pushes more fluid through. I took my 144 up to wisconsin last year , not that i wanted to had to take the wife riding, anyway I put over 400 trail miles on it and it never got hot once
great sled and fun to ride
