looking for any ideas for a motor replacement for my 91 phazer.. I cant find a 485 to replace the old blown motor.
any suggestions

I can offer you jugs, head and maybe more stuff to fix yours if you are interested let me know....Nick

It depends whats wrong with it. As long as the cylinders arent too beat up, you could put new pistons, rings and a new crank in it for $1,000. If you did that, you woul pretty much have a brand new engine that would last you another 10,000-15,000 miles or more.
Keep an eye out on Ebay. Sometimes you can find a complete motor that runs for pretty cheap.

i would need a new crank ,pistons, cylinderwalls.connecting rods. pretty much everything. its bad man..
i heard a srv motor will bolt in not sure. i found a srv for $350 tempted to try it. A 540 would work nice

Let me know if you get the rest of the parts and decided to go for it I will sell you 2 jugs and head for 100 bucks plus shipping.....

Any chance of finding a complete "donor" sled??
Thats what I did when we lost a rod bearing in my wifes Phazer2.
It was going to be close to $850 in parts & I found a whole sled for $900.

Not a bad way to go & plus you have lots of spare parts for the future!! ;)!
Dont know where "kingston" is, but ya have a guy on here trying to sell a Phazer in CO for $550.......dang cheap!!

Check craigslist too, not a bad place to find deal on sleds occasionally
Good luck.

I can find lots of sleds but no motors.. I have checked kijiji and craiglist..
Kingston is in ontario,canada.
I looked at your pics of your wifes sled its the same as mine

Yes, find a parts sled with a running motor.

You should find one for $500 or so.
