If anyone could help me find spec info on S292 engine. I just bought it but I am
not sure what it came out of and what the power rating is? I am hoping to rebuild and race in one lunger mod class. I have a rolling 73'GP chassis. There are a lot of 292 engines, this is my first yamaha all my other sleds are ski-doo and speedways. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

S292
The S motor you have is also a GP motor. It is a GP292 motor. 71 - 73 they made the S motors. I had one in a GP 246 chassis and got a lot of good years out of it. I think they put out around 24 hp. I had two GP 433's and the 246 back in the day. The 433's would do 65 - 70 mph top end and the 292 would run around 60. Biggest problem with the 73 chassis is the two speed chaincase. They were not real strong. We would swap a std case to give it longer life.
