nitrious kit on a srx ..The Book??..

ok i read the old posts on nitrous and i see there is a book explaining how it works being sent around from nosboy (gary) i was wanting to read this and was wondering if it is still avilable ? i am not even gonna ask what kit to use dont want to start any arguements i am gonna read it and figure it out myself...just lookin to get a little more power from my trail sled dont want to have to clutch special for it ..but i was wondering about how gary said he could do the same with a 20 dollar a gallon mek ...is that possable ? is it safe to do ? or was that just b.s. i can get all the mek i want as we have 55 gallon barrels of it were i work... and i am all about saving money but not about damageing my motor ...so who has the book they would be willing to send me i will pay shipping both ways ... thanks guys

I sent a book th reimond and also valin.. ask either of them if they're done with it... MEK is very dangerous and IT DESTROYS PLASTICS!!! if you are making a sled for 1/4 mile passes and STRICTLY RACING,, you could use exotic fuels!!! People took that out of context when I spoke of using MEK... There are alternative fuels that CAN BE USED,,, but only in certain applications... a NITROUS KIT used for making 20 horsepower is a WASTE OF MONEY... You could get a set of pipes, some carb parts,,, polishing your intake ports and sharpening your transfer ports, and have a LOT MORE reliable and a LOT BETTER gain than 20hp and it would cost 75% of what nitrous would.... I do NOT recommend nitrous kits for trail sleds.... It's just TOO MUCH shaking around on EVERYTHING!!!! I've had nitrous on a trail sled and had to make brackets out of stainless because it shook the heck out of them.... Too much work for 20hp...

I usually try and keep off this forum for the summer and try and concentrate on my racecar, so,, If you want to talk nitrous,, e mail me and we can communicate that way... i've also had a lot of trouble with some moderators on this site.. so,, it's better not to upset them..... you can e mail me at gryoles@aol.com

thanks gary i will drop one of them a line and see ...what is a safe amount of nituous to use on a srx 700 ? it will olny be used to pull away from some friends when we play on the lake or open fields ...not alot just want to have it for when i need it ...thanks gary for all your help

I installed an NOS fogger kit at the end of last season on my 04 viper. It works great and uses an external fuel supply that i have full of VP race fuel. The only problem is traction. I'm running a 136 1 1/4 ripsaw and no matter what i doo it just spins or ratchets. This year i'm installing anti ratchet drivers and studding the track. I'm also looking for a mono skid. Hopefully that will help with traction.

what kit are you using ? what kinda hp is it making ? i havent read the book yet but i am looking forward to it .....i kinda figured traction was gonna be the next thing ...

This is the kit. I used a junior dragster fuel cell that i mounted on the belt guard. Thats the only seperate part i had to buy. My sled didn't come with a battery so i mounted one behind the Boss seat and ran the wires under it.

Oh ya, i didn't use the push button activation. I installed a micro switch on the throttle shaft. I just turn the system on and it activates at full throttle. Really sings nicely. The problem is the bottle only lasts about 1/2 mile with the biggest jets. I havn't tried the smaller jets.

You should take the siphon tube out of the bottle and mount it upside down then the bottle would last longer. If it has a tube in it it, it wont empty the bottle the way you have it mounted.

The tube feeds from the bottom of the bottle and leans towards the back. Even if that would work, i can't mount it upside down or i would have to take the bottle out to open it. Believe me its empty after 1/2 mile. I baught a spare bottle thats a bit bigger so i don't have to get them filled as often.
