kinda been looking at a golf cart for use out at the camper, perfer gas i guess but dont really know much about electric. i have looked around for yamaha carts, but find none locally here in south east S.D. I have no experence with any cart so any info i could get from anyone would be great. Thank you in advance.

We have had both yamaha and ez-go ... we abuse them at our cottage. Both are strong runners ...

We bought ours from a campany who leases carts to golf courses ... you could check into something like that.

Do not go electric!

Have you checked craigslist?

I have a Club Car DS and I really like it alot. One of the best features of the Club Car is the all aluminum frame. It will not rust. Mine is a 93' that I slightly modified for off road use..............

Send me about $4000 plus your golf cart and In about 2 weeks you can pick it back up.......slightly modified!

My mother just bought a very nice '05 ez-go to help her around the yard. After looking at Yamaha gas, she went with the electric as it would be easier for her at age 62

thanks for all the info, i'm leaning towards gas, how does that instant start thing work.
thanks for the pics of your slightly mod golf cart.

That instant start thing is an electric generator/starter motor that turns over the engine. Same principle as a starter motor on your car, except you press the gas pedal instead of turning the key. BTW, here is a pic of my cart, significantly less "slightly modified".

I have used some Yamaha carts, what engine do they have? Are they CVT belt drive? Do they still sell carts? Still 2 stroke?

Have also used a few Harley-Davidson carts in years past. Those should be highly desirable because of the Harley fad.
-but then again that is over the peak and on the way down now.

Golf cart

I agree with vipertom to go with a Club car. go with gas for power, 10 minutes of your time and a wire tie and you can go from 10 mph to 24 mph in no time. We have a 99 that we use at the dragstrip.

While on the golf cart subject, a friend of mine just bought a new yamaha gas golf cart and it has team ind. primary and secondary. Just thought that was sweet.

how much should i expect to pay for a cart no older than 04? just need something to buzz around out at the river on weekends, prob just leave it out there.

i would go gas powered yamaha. mine is a 94 and it is easy to work on.

2004 and newer cart, stock, will probably run you $2500-$3000 if you find a good deal on one. Just a guess tho...haven't priced them in a while.

If i start looking for older carts, what should i look for, cracks, things broken, but where should i be looking. Ya think a golf course would have better carts used, or should i look for an independent sale? maybe something cert.

why not check that golf cart place near the interstate by the tea exit. the golf cart at work they just put new batteries in it and i heard it was about 600 just for that. they also put new tires on it and they were about 100 bucks a piece
