I have a low mileage (1,400) '93 Exxciter II SX. I recently came across the opportunity to acquire a NOS (brand new old stock) Injection Research Specialists (IRS) Electronic Fuel Injection kit for a '91 Exciter II which should fit the sled.
Thoughts on this mod?
I have already put plastic skis on the sled, a new ripsaw (took off old OEM track) and studs.
I am kind of torn as I like the idea of the mod but am wondering about benefits and reliability; bottom line-on the '93 SX-would this mod be worth it from a performance and reliability standpoint?
Thanks.

I have the same setup for my 87 Bender Terminator Exciter. It isn't on the sled at this time. The system sure looks cool, but I believe it would be hard to beat the flatslides for all out performance.

Just spoke to another guy and he has the Bender Electronic Fuel Injection Kit, brand-new, never opened. Again, I am kind of torn as I like the idea of the mod but am wondering about benefits and reliability; bottom line-on the '93 SX-would this mod be worth it from a performance and reliability standpoint?
I'm curious about ease of tuning... On EFI cars you can tune/datalog with an A/F meter with a bung welded in the header collector. I don't know how it works with 2 strokes.
Hard to beat flatslides, screwdriver, pliers, spray carb cleaner, and jets. My cup of tea. The trail side repairs are simple.
It might be worth doing it for the novelty.
Good Luck, John

I really would like to see that terminator in it´s own album in here:

share this link to others exciter entusiasts out there
p.s this goes for your sx too tony and btw if u got time and feel for it we really would appreciate if you could make a short article about vmax secondary conversion for exciter in the same way as i did mine about hydraulic brakes. The thought is too build up a base with easy to find knowledge and step by step instructions for mods.

Love the Atlas Shrugged avatar.. I am currently raising 4 Dagny Tagards, hoping they find 4 John Gaults or Hank Reardons to marry, or maybe a Francisco Danconia or two. Hope they find them fast and we all can leave to you know where.
Like that your keeping the old iron on the trail, love to see someone riding those on the trail.

Ok, will most likley keep stock as I don't have the time for endless tinkering/setup.
I think I just about cornered the old iron market. Have the following sleds, all with ultra-low miles: '90 Ovation, '91 Phazer II LE (too many mods to list), '91 Phazer II LE w/Hartman rail and tunnel extension, '93 Phazer II LE (almost all stock), '93 Exciter II SX, '96 Phazer II LE (tunnel and rail extension, also a ton of mods), and finally, an '02 SRX tricked out with the CB Performance front-end kit and a bunch of other mods.
