Looking for information on what kind of results people have had with mods on the SRX 600.. I am interested in race mods for a full on improver or possibly prostock set up.. Is 170 Hp within reach?? I'm thinking of building a 2000 ft. radar run sled for this season.. Any info would be appreciated..

These guys had a pretty quick srx 600 running on ice a while back. I think they still have it sitting in the shop. I haven't been there in a while.

Ron is the guy that might know some stuff on it. The guy that was the builder/tuner has moved on to another job/career choice.

Might want to give him a call and see????

Ryan I got ahold of the guys from ac farm service. They ran a stock SRX 600.. Sure doesn't seem to be alot of guys that have worked with this sled!! Either that or there are all very tight lipped..

Try to get ahold of Mrviper700 on here. He should be able to hook you up. I have a perfectly matched set of stock cylinders, but not any improved stock stuff. You will need a 98-99 race cdi to go with it I believe as well to get the true HP potential.

600 will be a chore to get into the real world 170hp range, problem is the bore is just a little too small for the case volume, its not a very efficient pumping set up. You could likely get into the 155-160hp range with full porting, head redesign, aftermarket pipes and bored carbs, a small timing key. prostock would use 38mm carbs on a 600, anything more would be a waste, unless you ran lectrons.

Mr Viper I have a set of 38mm flat slides set aside for this along with a high rpm box. I plan to have custom pipes fabricated after I get the engine work done. Do you think there are any gains available in the cases by devconing air voids such as along sides of reed cages etc?? This may increase pumping efficency a bit..

I am sure there will be gains, youll have to spend some time on a dyno and try tightening up the case a bit, a srx600 and 700 uses the same case. the 600 piston just doesnt pump enuff because its quite a bit smaller. your on the right track!
