Racing Extreme a division of Racine Extreme has teamed up with the Golf Farm to host the first Annual Racing Extreme Snowmobile Grass Drag Race and Power Sports Swap Meet on October 25, 2008. The event will be located Just south of Hwy 120 in Volo, IL and just North of Hwy 176 on the East side of Route 12 behind the Golf Farm 2100 N Route 12 in Wauconda Illinois.
A new track has been constructed and dedicated to the sport of snowmobile drag racing. The newly constructed 1500 foot track features a 125 foot clay start line and the 500 feet of competition area has been laser graded with a 1000 foot obstruction free shut down area. The track has a 10 foot buffer area on each side with a 10 foot return lane. The entire west side of the track has an area for spectators providing a view of the entire race course from the start line to the finish line.
The event grounds are set on 28 acres offering plenty of room for free event parking, a dedicated vendor area and a separate swap area. The dedicated racer pits offer parking for 100 plus full size trucks and trailers with a hot pit area closer to the tracks staging area. The Golf Farm driving range which host’s a full bar and restaurant, volley ball courts, horse shoe pits, putting greens and mini golf by summer transforms to a 10 week Snocross venue in the winter for the Winter Thunder Challenge SnoX Series and will now be home to the Annual Racing Extreme Grass Drag and Swap Meet!
This event welcomes racers of all levels from the amateurs to the pros with an 80% Pay Back for all classes and a 120 class for the youngsters where everyone will be a winner. Contingencies are currently being worked on and will be announced in an up coming Press Release.
With the demise of several other snowmobile events in the area Racing Extreme has set goals to promote the sport of snowmobiling at all levels and build a premier event for racers, vendors, swappers, spectators and give all snowmobile enthusiasts a way to kick of the upcoming snowmobile season. The venue has received outstanding support to this point and is sure to be a premier snowmobile event in the Midwest.
