I got my srx all prepped a while back for summer storage, it sits in a cool garage with a relativly low humidity level.... Garage is heated during the winter, garage door is kept shut during the summer as much as possible, just so it doesn't get to humid in there... I got a full tank of gas that IS treated and the crabs are drained... I have the tank full so that no humidity builds up in the tank, plan on draining the gas when winter comes around.... oil is also full....
Was curious to know if the humidity is bad for a sled?
Not sure if i am over doing anything with it... just heard rumors that humidity is bad for a sled.... But i can see why it would be, but i think it got it nailed... did i miss anything?

HUMIDITY IS REAL TOUGH TO TUNE FOR. ESPECIALLY FOR GRASS RACING. DON,T SEE A PROBLEM FOR STORAGE THOUGH. 3;16 (yammie tony)

Did you fog the sled when you put it away?

Carbs and Cyls are fogged.... Didn't know if bearings in certain areas will crap out with humidity.... crank seal etc...

If you fogged it properly by letting it run on the fogging oil while spraying into the cylinders it will coat the entire engine with oil including the crank bearings. It's the coat of oil that is protecting you from the humidity. Sounds like you are good to go.
Gas
One thing I always do too is drain the gas out of the sled before you use it and put it in your truck, car, lawnmower or whatever. Put a nice fresh tank of gas in the sled.

I do the same but I only put the gas in the cars. I had some trouble with an older mower a few years back when using semi-old gas out of my sled. (Gas was about 6 weeks old)

I had the dealer ship summerize the sled, because i have a service plan with them for another 3 years.... I assume that they ran the motor with the fogging oil in it to coat the motor......
when you start it up and you cant see anything because of the smoke then you know its been fogged lol.

I got the rear end suspened in the air with a hoist, and the front is up in the air with two blocks of wood underneath the skid plate.... Is that alright to do? i'm way over meticulous with my things and i just wanna make sure i'm doing something i shouldnt be....
its suppose to be easier on the supension by doing that but i dont know alot of people who do but it wont hurt anything. imo.
I wrote a bunch of posts using ATF as a fogging oil.. maybe read 1 or 2.. You'd be SURPRISED!!! the 10% alcohol SUCKS the moisture out of summer air and makes a nice little "puddle" of water in your gastank!!!!! You'd be surprised if you took the tank out and saw the little puddle on the bottom!!!
humidity
I fill my sled at spring(to awoid moisture in the gas tank)then I drain the gas and use it in my car or something else and put fresh gas in my sled and clean the carbs before every season because the gas drops in octane when stored, remember two strokes are sensitive. Some sleds require a high octane gas like srx, I have to use the highest octane gas i can find in my area to keep my engine alive. When I´ve cleaned my gastanks I´ve found water and oil residue. I think It´s a good idea to clean the tank of every vehicle you buy/get because you never now it´s history and it will save you a lot of money for very little work. Some of my friend pull full throttle with the gas of last year and can´t understand why they break pistons and I don´t.OK What I´ve wrote is almost only how to keep the pistons alive, to save your bearings in good shape fog it good like that everyone else says (I´ve no nowledge in this, i do as my engine shop tels me to do and it works). I think fogging is made to keep the bearings in shape.(Spark plugs are a lot cheaper than crank bearings).
