Now please help me out here.My '99 vt 600 needs new shocks.Going through the parts page on this site is very intertesting. The rear and center shocks share basiclly the same part numbers thru a couple of years,REAR #8CW-47480-10,CENTER#8CW-47481-10.These are for the 2001 model sled. Now the price is the catch here for a '99 like mine the rear is $280.62, also the same for the '01.The center is $325.00 for the '99 but '01 is $225.00.Now what the "H" is the difference? Also there is an alternate rear spring for the rear shock,is this a HEAVIER spring for Extra loads? The dealer could not give me an answer about the difference in the shocks or about the spring. Please help me out.Thank's.

some were hydraulic non rebuildable shocks, some were aluminum bodied gas charged rebuildable shocks. Find a set of viper take offs and have them revalved or just run them. the stiffer valving in them may work good in a vt. Maxdlx
For that price you can practically buy new ohlins, well the front anyway, the rear costs 600..
