I just got a phone call from a fellow Yamaha rider telling me that a dealer told him Yamaha has decided to change their corporate logo color from Team Blue to Red. The dealer said they recieved the letter a couple of weeks ago.
I know Yamaha has used the red in the past and has also used it in Canada.
I sure hope they do not decide to quit building sleds, ATV's, bikes, clothing and accessories in Team Blue. I have purchased my last six sleds in Team Blue and have never got tired of the color. Every other brand rider knows when my Team Blue sled goes by them it's a YAMAHA!!!!
Anyone out there hear news on this change?

That sucks. I love Yamaha Blue. Honda is red, Kawi is green, Zuki is yellow and Yami is blue. Y change that.

not necessarily true.... yamaha has been yellow, red and then blue with blue being the most recent to the color line-up. and as for other manufacturers, i don't know a whole lot about them... but suzuki is not always yellow... suzuki is predominately a red and blue company like seen on their motorcycles, while their off road vehicles (atv's, dirtbikes) are the yellow. kawaski also does red and blue as well but green is their main scheme that is recognized with their name. its all a marketing fandangle. one color does not fit all and also the new colors attracts new buyers as well. it all comes down to marketing really. just fyi

Yellow
I remember when I was growing up, I had a 1980 YZ125 and it was YELLOW.Wouldn't mind at all if they made sled this colour. With some stickers like the gas tank had on it as well.I'm more worried about the loss of two-strokes.Or about the parts they probably get for their sleds across the bay from China. Which I'm sure some come from.Maybe the red is chinese flag red??

So all of our blue and white yammies are retro now? If its true I bet polaris will jump all over the blue color theme. They've made plenty of blue sleds already.
As far as marketing goes, it wouldn't be a smart decision. Blue with white strobes is one of the most identifyable color schemes in the industry. You imediately think yamaha. Or maybe they just wan't to sell all of their current customers some overpriced red gear.

I think that both red and blue can look great on a Yamaha sled. Here's a few pics of the 4-stroke Apex's that my wife and I rode last year.
Different strokes for different folks........

I think it's fine that they go with other colors, just as long as they keep blue as an option. A lot of people would still probably go with blue anyway. I like my red viper but I think I would rather have blue given the choice.

I like that idea too, as long as blue is still an option.
