I have run into a slight problem with my 03 Viper Deep Powder Special and need any information you might have.

1. Is a Deep Powder Special the same as a Mountain Viper? Mine says Deep Powder Special all over it but no mention of Mountain.
2. Did a Deep Powder Special come with sway bars? I have no sway bars on mine and the hole where the bar passes through the chassis is plugged with a metal plate and riveted. The plate looks like original equipment so I am wondering if it ever had a sway bar.
3. Assuming it never had a sway bar, what is involved with putting one on. If putting the bar on includes having to pull the motor then I can live with it as it is!! Has anyone installed a sway bar from scratch??
4. Are there any links out there to help describe how the Deep Powder Special came equipped.

Thanks for any help....

ok, i have a 04 viper mtn. the year after yours. mine is a deep snow special too. (1) yes its the same as a mountain viper, (2) they didnt coem with sway bars. mine doesnt have any on her either. it makes her more better for side climbing, and she is real tippy. (3) it shouldnt be too hard installing the sway bar on yours. just make a hole on each side using a drill big enough for the sway bar to goes though and it should just slide right through and u should have to pull your motor. just take your manifold off if your having problems gettin it through the hole, then guide it through.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Thanks for the info. I think I am going to try and live without it this year and see how the wife likes it... Any tips on reducing the tipping without adding the sway bar? Thanks.

You can change the locations of the spacers in the ski where the spindle attaches to move the skis farther apart. Tightening up the front springs might help some too.
