Would my 80 440 easily drop into a 83 SS440 with a bad motor?
Any insights?
Thanks

You will need all the electrical, CDI, wiring ETC.. Be sure to use the motor mount for that engine and that the clutches align with the proper belt.
It sounds easy but there is much involved in it.

Thanks,
I wonder if it is more work then it is worth? It is a fresh 80 motor....

Just have to be sure the motor with its own mount will bolt down in the belly perfectly and straight with the clutches. If the exhaust between the sleds are located on differnt sides of the sled, you might run into some problems..
I ran into that with an exciter and an enticer. I just got a parts exciter in the deal and tried to swap an exciter motor over to the enticer.. totally different animals.
