Sorry for not searching, please help me anyway though :) (i'm too tired tonight) how hard is it to put a Viper skid in older xtc?

Hey Mike I'm not sure here and I never retrofit any skid, I'm about to do a 136 proaction on my phazer II, but isn't just a matter of measure and re-drill. I'm sure somebody will help you out but I can't see being to hard to do....

If it is a 1995 then it's definately one of the first versions of the Pro-Action that was used by many models from 1983-1996. The first version of the Pro-Action Plus appeared in the 1996 Vmax 5/600 XT's and if yours happens to be one of these then I doubt you would get a smoother ride with a Viper suspension but, would get better handling if that is what you're after ?

if it is the 96 xt's they are the same bolt up, but better shocks and adj transfer.

96 already HAS the proaction. Almost bought one, but waited for the 97's to come out. Much happier with the trailing arm model. It's the one in my avatar!!

I put a 96 suspension in my V-Max-4 and was never really happy with it. Weight transfer isn't worth a damn. I had to doctor the transfer rods as there were nothing available for them. My 98 SRX Mountain is easily twice the suspension of the 96. They changed the shock from 96 to 97 and up and made it almost twice the size as the 96, and as far as I know made only minor changes from then on. Not sure about the bolt-up, but if its going into a 97 or newer sled, I don't think its really worth changing. Good luck. G.

I should have been more specific, and I was flat wrong on the models. Viper skid in a 1995 Vmax 600.
