Is there any advantage to double the base gasket and shave the heads to get back to stock compression on a ported 02 srx, how big can you go on the hole in the back of the piston without compromising reliability thanks for your replies;

That trick works better on the 98 & 99 SRX. The 00,s & newer have a very small change in port timing & I personally do not know anyone that has had any luck with the newer srx,s doing this mod. You can drill the hole to 3/4" in the pistons tho.

what do you mean about the 3/4'' hole,is there a hole already there and you make it bigger or is that a specal mod by it's self and what gains does it give
