Great Debate: The Best Oil (synthetic or not)

I figured its that time of year when some of us start to think about maybe trying a different oil from the just the plain old Yamalube, so here is your chance to convince us to switch over....Amsoil, Klotz, etc.......

I used klotz in my srx never cleaned the vavles which using that oil so i dont know how it did, i sold it before i checked the valves. Only used it for 1 season. Didn't really notice a difference performance wise, but this oil has a kinda soapy smell in the exhaust compared to yamalube. Didn't really like that smell though.

I have used amsoil 2000 racing oil in my 2001 srx 700 8000 km and only had to clean my valves once at about 6000 km. This year Im switching to amsoil interceptor a new oil with more detergent in it and also the price is cheaper by about 3 dollars a quart.Amsoil also smells better then yamalube
 
I have used Torco in my 02 Viper for over 3,000 miles and the power valves are sticky like syrup! Good oil with great protection and doesnt smell bad either but this year i'm switching to Amsoil 2000 in both my Vipers.......drf
 
I'm been running Amsoil Injector oil for several seasons. With Yamalube and stock settings, my 500's were at about 80mpq. I've got them both up to 175mpq safely (during hard riding with some powder play) and have less smoke too.

The Amsoil race oil should be used only for WFO conditions, idling might be a bad thing, since it's beefed up a little.

The new Interceptor, I've heard good things about it, it's a little more than Injector oil though. If I had sleds with power valves, I'd run Injector oil, and tune that oil pump for the oil. My SRX buddies who run it have had zero problems doing it just like that.

I've heard great things about Redline and Klotz, but availability and cost pushed me toward Amsoil. I am running it in pretty much all my internal combustion engines!
 
I made a mistake in my above post. I'm going to use the regular Amsoil NOT the 2000....I dont feel its needed on a stock sled...drf
 
At present, Blue Marble is untouchable. The sled mags are just starting to test it/use it, and they are impressed. A couple of the HUGE benefits of this oil pertaining to our sport is 1) It's Eco-friendly 2) Imporves fuel mileage dramatically. Blue Marble is tops for now.
 
I am also switching to Blue Marble after trying Amsoil, Klotz Techni-Plate,and Yamalube. I found a dealer Northway Sports in East Bethel, Mn. so I didn't have to pay the shipping charges. He only had the gallon in stock is suppose to get the quarts in sometime soon.
 
You better check Hardcore site first on the Blue Marble some of the following have come up.

Last week inquiries to Blue Marble have been responded to with lies on certification. Blue Marble has not been certified and the outlandish claims have never been verified. They are finally admitting this.

The new company that purchased the rights in January is headed by Ken Lay"s son. If you don't remember the father was the Chairman of Emron that ran away with the money and screwed all those people. Read the article at Forbes.com, Back in the Saddle article.

If these conditions are acceptable to you :roll: use Blue Marble.
 
Haven't heard anybody talk about Maxima TundraR. Just bought a 01 SXR700 and the guy said its all he ran. What do you guys think, stick with it or switch to something else
