Thats gunna take alot of engineering and modifcation to make that swap and make it work correctly.

I think you are dreaming.
jesus i'm not the only one doing weird stuffff lollll
I'd love to see that!! Stick the pipes straight out the hood like a tractor puller
YEEHAA give her some spray too
Hey why not, Sure would be different

Make sure you know what you're getting into first, before you spend the $$$ on an engine. Like ExpertX said, lots of engineering, and I might add lots of time and patience. I'd say just buy the apex instead, and get the whole package. But if you could pull it off, it would be pretty cool.
If you're looking for a damaged sled, I have 2 sites for ya, and have seen apexes and attaks on both:
www.crankyape.com (this is where the TY sled build sled came from I believe)
www.crashedtoys.com

From one twisted mind to another, I say go fer it. That would be kewl. However, as said before, print it first. Get all your ducks lined up, then build it. lol
Some points to consider:
The motor is built towards the middle of the Apexs for balance and the feel of light weight. Putting that much weight into the front end of a srx may be a handfull. You will need a taller hood, rebuild the bulk head, redesign the side panels to fit the new bulk head and motor, custom built exhaust, must have motor lined up with secondary so a guy could run stock belts. I could think of many more things, but these are just off the top of my head.

Good luck with that.. Better drill some holes in the belly pan for the homemade exhaustExpertXViper said:Thats gunna take alot of engineering and modifcation to make that swap and make it work correctly.
Now there is a man with ambition !!!

I hope....... If you do go along with this swap you start after this up coming season cause my bets are you wont have it done in time and thats a project I wouldnt want to rush. Unless you have a back up sled then you be good to go whenever you wanted.
But you deff. need some engineering skills to make this project work. Reason I say that, look at the chassis/bulkhead diff. between the dinosaur SRX vs the Apex of today.....much different......Engine design...2S vs 4S, which makes your exhaust system diff., then you have your center to center and offset for the clutching.
Like mention start with measurements on PAPER/CAD(If you got it)!!!! Instead of getting 50-60+ hours into the project and come to find out it wont work.

I say give her a go!! I've seen a Mach Z chassis with a turbo charged RX-1 engine in it. Probably the fastest full body sled I've ever seen run.. Should be able to cram one into an SRX..

i should be getting the hole sled in two to three weeks so i will be doing some looking at both sleds and see how im goin to do this swop i will take pix for ya all

The guy Jabber is talking about, his username on the 4 stroke side is Hurricane, very nice guy to talk to on and off the ice. The sled is the fastest full body sled, i think it ran 174 in 2000. I'm sure he would awnswer some questions for you if you sent him a PM.

600srxman, his name is Dave Marshall. There is a build of it somewhere on the internet on the 2koolperformance forums. I'll try to find it and post the link. I remembe the build not going into much detail, though.

Keep me posted for sure on this build. This is a route I have been thinking of for a while now, whenever I get bored with the 1136cc motor.

im goin to start getting the chassis ready for the swop i have a mach in my shop right now and the srx has more side to side room under the hood for the apex motor/Rx1
I have to got to keep an eye on this one. I hope you pull this off, man. I have a supercharged attak, that I would love to take the powerplant out of it and install into a chassis that is much lighter. This sled idea of yours should rock, for sure.
