can the nikasil cylinders be honed??
dropped mine of at a motor shop because they needed them to match up the new Wiesco pistons. When I got them back the mechanic didnt tell me he honed them, I noticed it on my bill and then I checked the cylinders and they are all cross hatched.... doenst that wear off the nikasil?
just like to hear from some other guys before I call dealer tomorrow and see what Yammy says about them.

I honed mine when I changed pistons, Didn't seem to have any problems. Ran them 4000 miles after the last rebuild.

I was always told not to do anything with these types of clyinders BUT once I had a pit in mine, I filled it in with JB weld and honed it out, and it worked ok and it actually stayed in there, It was a trick someone else told me about before, but im not recomending this just saying I did do it once, lol.
yes they have to hone them to get the rings to seal.
