Hi All. As fall is coming we all start thinking about our sleds. Well I would love to buy a new Apex, but a new car for the wife should come first. So I will be keeping my 02 Viper for at least for another season. I need to buy a new track. I need suggestions. Currently I have an original stock track with 144 studs. The track has 10,000km + on it and it is due for replacement. I ride in bush trails, groomed fields and lakes (sometimes) I was looking at the pre-studded tracks but dont know how well they are. The options I have seen are ripsaw 1.25 with or without studs or 1.00 iceclaw pre studded. I have heard the Vipers work real well with a 1.25".
Any suggestions?

1-1/4 ripsaw. have one and night and day difference from the original track. the ice rippers aren't worth the extra $. those little stud tips that stick out, do jack squat. a buddy of mine has that track and its no better than my normal ripsaw.

what track comes on the 01 srx stock? kimpex or a camoplast? got 4699mi on my sled and the track looks to be in real good condition for the miles on it... not sure if its stock.

Your stock track is a yokahama, a believe its a japanese brand. The stock tracks will wear like iron, but don't work very well at all.Get yourself a ripsaw, predator or the new cobra on there and you'll be a happy camper. It will seem like a different sled in some ways and will even roll better which can contribute to better mileage, I may be splitting hairs on that one, but it can't hurt!

9818 for 1.25 or 9830 for 1" and stud it. The Cobra would be my track of choice if I were not studding.

I ran the Hacksaw (1") the last couple of seasons, and it was pretty good, but I am going with the 9818 this year. It just seems to hook better in most conditions.
