I was looking for a second machine for the wife and this sled came up. Going to look at it this weekend. Any comments about what to look for, anybody have one and are they happy with it? I believe it has 5k on it. We were interested in a 700 venture, but they are hard to find. Also there is a 99 600 wmax deluxe with 4k we will be looking at.

I have a 01 Venture 600 and like it alot. It's very stable and controllable. Low end grunt is very good. I'd like a little more on the top end though: can go 103 on hard pack/icy straightway. Engine is bulletproof, driving is comfortable especially with the adjustable backrest which can be used by the driver. I've had no problems with mine. Only replaced a belt so far. Nothing else. Super reliable, excellent machine!

Heck I've got a 99 fan cooled and love it..... not fast but great sleds to haul the kids around!!

00 sxr

i have an 00 sxr that has been massaged for my wife that i would be willing to sell.... pics under Mrsonlyblue in featured section.... has 5000 ish miles, shocks revalved/resprung by maxximum performance, arctic cat mirrors, sled rides awesome and is bullet proof. I bought it new, and it has never been to the shop except for maintenance stuff... has never left us stranded or failed to start no matter what the weather... your wife would love this ride...

Thanks, onlybluesrv, but you are a little too far from central Ontario. I should update my profile. Also we need some more room for the kids as they enjoy the riding as well and with a venture I can take both kids on the machine with me and let my wife drive the srx 700 solo (she really likes that). I am going to put deposit on the 2000 venture 600 and try to sell the 98 srx 700. We don"t need two 700 srx? The venture looks to be in good shape and doesn"t need anything other than a small rip in the seat over the Yamaha logo. Anyone have a good fix for seat rips or am I going to have to send it out for repair?

Seat rip

i used liquid leather on my boat seat that had a tear in it, worked great
not sure how it would work in cold?? its a cheap experiment, like 20 bucks...
