Good day everyone,Question for you guy's.I have a chance to buy a used set of ski's off a 2006 APEX,plastic of course, will these fit on my 1999 Venture touring?I'm hoping so if anyone can answer great! Thanks again.
you have all metal ones on it now ? if they are the ones with the alumnium saddle they will...... unsure if the all plastic saddleless ones will i think they will .......BUT here is the problem your stock mounting hole is 4 inches from the ground and the newer mounting hole is just over 2 inches ......so in turn you are actually droping the front of your sled almost 2 inches ....dont seem like much but i am killing the front of my slides so i am gonna have custom saddles made to raise the front back up ...1 1/2 inches ...not sure if the limiter straps can be adjusted to compsate for the difference .....i like the ride but while on the throttle it picks the front end up enough to make it hard to turn while on the gas ...let off front drops and turns like on rails .....

it is more of a transfer rod problem than anything else. when you lower the front of the sled without doing anything else you have changed where your transfer rod gaps are. to get them back, you will need to adjust the rear skid. on a venture with the piddly little center spring, I doubt it will be effecting it, just make sure your rear gaps are correct. read the article below if you havent already.
yamahahead, if yo put these on a srx, flip the brackets. do a search, ive explained it on her somewhere.
if you still have trouble it will be because center spring on an srx is so stiff it can balance on it. the rear skid will need to be adjusted for the skis. do the flip first thought to get back some clearence on the front end, then adjust the rear skid from scratch.

oh, the skis will fit any yamaha sled 97 and up. you will need the longer bolts to go with them to bolt them on. for the best handling, use arctic cat offset duallies, buy the long ones. you will need to have two studs welded in new location. shim your skis so the rear is biased and you wont believe how the sled will handle. 0 darting on all conditions and great cornering, especially compaired to the skis you took off.
do not put on regular duallies from woodys, they are dangerous in some conditions.
if you want second best handling with those skis, get some shaper bars, they are the best i have found so far for a single carbide.
