I am not all that familiar with removing the reverse set-up from the chaincase
on a 2000 SXR 700. The reason for removing the chaincase is to install a
1 1/4'' ripsaw track. Does anyone out there know a easy way to do this or is there a procedure out there to follow with directions. Has anyone done this before & how hard is it to do.

Vince, you had a 2000 SXR didn't you. Did you have reverse on it & did you ever remove it to get to the chaincase.

Not that hard

Just pay attention when you take it apart. It looks scarry but it's really not that bad. Take all the parts off in order and lay them down in the chaincase. I use a deep well socket thru the hole in the gears to keep everything in place. To confirm that you are doing it right when you put it together just print the shematic from the Yamaha parts thingy on the main page. Go for it! The easiest thing to loose is the little spring between the reverse idler wheels.

I think Richierich e-mailed me some instructions once. It's not that bad. The schematics kinda make it look harder than it is.

RE: Reversed gear instructions

Thanks for your help Tom with the links to the info I needed. I really appreciate it. It should be very helpful.

Oh, I can't wait to go sledding!

Thanks,
